When we were choosing a watch for the summer, we wrote down the parameters that such a watch should meet. The list of requirements included several basic parameters - waterproofness, scratch resistance, resistance to magnetization, excellent readability even in low light conditions and, last but not least, low weight and the condition that the watch was comfortable to wear on the hand. And at the same time, a reasonable price, so that after buying the watch there would be something left for some adventure. 

Finding a watch that met all our requirements turned out to be a difficult task. When the price was good, we had to compromise on the quality requirements or on the equipment side. When the watch looked promising and met almost all our requirements, we didn't like the design or their high price tag put them off the list. But because we don't like to give up on our dreams and goals so easily, we decided to take a different approach and look around with the knowledge of possible modifications and improvements to one of the existing watch models on the market. 

At last year's Micro Prague festival, we had the opportunity to take a closer look at the Circula watch collection, created by our friend Cornelius. His ProTrail series in particular met most of the requirements we set. However, what we were not going to give up and compromise on was the design of the dial. We had a clear idea about it from the beginning - a simple, legible design with contrasting hands for easy reading of the time. Word followed word, several rounds of suggestions, comments and renders took place, until we finally reached the final design that met our expectations - a black dial with a rough structure (which, by the way, corresponds beautifully with the treatment of the side of the case), gold-framed indexes and gold-plated hands. This allowed us to give the watch a nice look and also ensure excellent readability. The hands, indexes, and even the engraving in the screw-down crown are coated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring excellent readability even in poor lighting conditions.

The watch sits perfectly on the hand, also thanks to its low weight - including the strap it weighs 95 grams. Thanks to a special treatment of the case, the watch is scratch-resistant - by the way, the hardening technology that Circula used in this case is identical to that used by the German watch manufacturer Sinn (Tegimente). It is not just a simple application of an additional surface layer, but the use of a special hardening technique. Thanks to the double encapsulation of the mechanical movement, the watch is resistant to magnetization. The sapphire crystal is provided with a double layer of anti-reflective coating, which was applied from its inside, which means that there is no risk of damage. All this is crowned by high water resistance, which is ensured by a screw-down crown and a screw-down crown.

In addition to looking great, the watch is also great to wear. It is fastened to the wrist with a durable strap made of nylon canvas, the underside of which is lined with fine leather. The pin buckle is hardened using the same technology as the case itself and is therefore also scratch-resistant. The strap is equipped with so-called quick-release buckles ensuring easy replacement. Alternatively, it is possible to choose the option with a steel bracelet. This is a robust, three-row stainless steel bracelet which, thanks to its integrated attachment, ensures a smooth transition between the case and the bracelet. The bracelet is made of sandblasted stainless steel, which, thanks to a special surface treatment, is scratch-resistant up to 1,200 Vickers. The secret bracelet is equipped with quick-release buckles ensuring easy detachment of the bracelet from the watch case. The option with a steel bracelet also comes with a strap.
